HOW TO CLEAN EXPENSIVE JEWELLERY

Women’s attachment to ornaments is quit natural. Jewellery makes a woman’s personality enchanting; its glitter adds to her beauty. But if this jewellery is dirty and lusterless, it will make her personality dull and her natural beauty will be eclipsed. Here some tips given to maintain your expensive jewellery.
GOLD JEWELLERY
Clean gold jewellery with soft cotton cloth and then rub a pinch of turmeric powder with the help of a soft cloth.To bring natural shine to jewellery, immerse gold jewellery in alum water and wash it with tamarind juice or clean it with soap-nut (reetha) water.To restore the glitter in gold jewellery, dip in water mixed with vinegar for an hour and then clean it with old toothbrush.To bring shine to gold jewellery use “gooperdent” material used for cleaning dummy jaws.To restore glitter to studded gold jewellery, wrap it in a shinning white cloth and expose it to vapour.If studded jewellery is immersed in gin, it regains its glitter.If a knot is formed somehow in the jewellery, talcum powder on the knot will loosen it easily.
DIAMOND JEWELLERY
Clean diamond jewellery with toothpaste to regain its radiance.Dip diamond jewellery in soap-nut (reetha) water.Dip diamond jewellery in warm soap water and rub them lightly with an old toothbrush. Then immerse in alcohol and wipe them with a very soft cloth.
PEARL JEWELLERY
Jewellery studded with pearl and stones should be cleaned with the help of cotton wool wet with spirit. Blemishes on pearl jewellery can easily removed by rubbing rice-flour on it.
To prevent artificial pearls getting black soon, coat them with a colourless nail polish after buying it.To ensure long term glitter of artificial pearl jewellery, keep them wrapped in cotton wool.
SILVER JEWELLERY
If silver jewellery is turning black, put it in pan, add 3 glass of water and a finely cut potato to it. Boil for 10 minutes. The silver will regain its lost shine.Add 1 tsp of salt and soda into one liter of water. Now dip silver jewellery in it and boil for 5 minutes. Then wash with soap water and wipe with warm cloth.Prepare a solution of edible lime, juice of a lemon and water. Put silver jewellery in and boil it for few minutes. After cooling wash it with brush.
